Woodhaven Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Palm Desert, California.
Woodhaven Country Club first opened for play in 1984. The course was designed Harold Heers Jr.
Woodhaven Country Club offers a fun and playable round on tree-lined fairways with incredible views of the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains.
Now (2008) under new ownership, this par-70 course, built about 25 years ago, is being treated with new care and attention. They are enlarging the tee boxes to create a better first-shot experience. They have upgraded the irrigation system and improved the quality of the turf. They are also improving the drainage and adding new sand to their bunkers.
This is a player-friendly course. This is a semi-private club that does allow public play with three-day advance tee times.
You can get off to an easy start here on No. 1, a par-4, playing at 361 yards from the back and 341 from the front. This hole offers a straight-forward layout, but watch out for the bunkers to the left and right as well as around the green.
The 5th hole is an interesting and short par-4, measuring 263 yards from the back and 244 from the front. The narrow fairway may look tempting, but be careful. It has large trees on the left and a long lake on the right. So it's easy to push your ball into the water or pull it into the trees.
Their signature hole is No. 6, a par-3, measuring 165 yards from the back and 118 yards from the forward tees, that is all carry over water.
The 17th also offers possible water trouble. It's one of the two par-5s on the course and plays at 500 yards from the back and 460 yards from the front. Accuracy is important here. You need to stay in the middle of the fairway. It's possible to reach the green in two, but you'll have to go over the water on your second shot.
The distances, ratings and slopes at Woodhaven are: 5,794 yards (67.1/118); 5,254 (70.0/117).

I live in the desert and take advantage of summer discount prices at several courses in the area. While my overall satisfaction is high much of it is based on the low summer prices, less than $20.00 with cart. I also like the fact that marshalls continually drive the course and are friendly and helpful.

Very good course for seniors.

Played this track three times while on winter vacation. Pace of play kinda slow once but played 4 hrs. 10 min. the other two. Great condition. This track has many pricing levels. Check real good prior to booking. I played at noon and found better than avg. pricing for the area. Layout is great and enough tees to make seniors and ladies happy.

Tight fairways but fair. Great shape, greens don't look like much, but are fast and smooth. Really enjoyed it, will play again.
